Educational programme

We have prepared an interesting programme for primary schools across Slovenia to organise sports and science days in the Ethnological Holistic Village of Apace in Stogovci. Located in north-eastern Slovenia, between the Mura River and the Slovenian Highlands, Apace boasts large agricultural areas surrounded by beautiful green nature.

The purpose of the village visit is to prepare a learning unit that could be carried out as part of a sports, science or technical day or as an activity in an after-school centre, and would be suitable for primary school children as well as for participants at higher levels of education. The unit could be used in primary school, either as part of the regular curriculum or as part of sports, science, or other subjects. technical days. In addition to presenting farm buildings, plants and their uses, we want to promote interest in medicinal plants and healthy lifestyles.

What can we expect in an ethnologically holistic village?

  • Presentation and experience at a trestle – a farm building that represents a large part of Slovenia’s cultural heritage.
  • Learning about and handling medicinal plants and herbs – setting up a workshop where pupils encounter the use of plants – practical work
  • A snack prepared by the pupils themselves.
  • Short meditation and sound bath (indoor common room – hall).
  • Manual work (preparing sports equipment) – sewing, filling sandbags,
  • Sports board games.

The programme is flexible and lasts approximately 3-4 hours (or by arrangement).
